COVID-19 Safety Plan
Going into effect 6/21/2022
MASKS
Masks are now optional for all staff and visitors.
With the changes in state regulation, masks are now optional for all those entering our gym. Face masks have never been required and will continue to NOT be required by students during physical activity, due to the risk to proper breathing during exercise, as advised by USA Gymnastics. If you would prefer your child remain wearing their mask throughout their class, please alert our staff at the start of your class.
ILLNESS POLICY
Let’s all continue to commit to staying home when we’re sick.
All persons will stay home and not enter the gym if they have a fever of 100.4 or higher or feel sick. Please monitor your child before bringing them to class for any symptoms of COVID-19, or any illness. This past year, we saw so many fewer colds and flus going around the gym – let’s keep it up! We will be happy to schedule you a make-up for your missed class due to illness!
CAPACITY RESTRICTIONS & SPECTATORS
We recommend no more than two accompanying spectators during classes.
Our parent viewing area space is limited in general, and during peak hours, can get crowded. Please do not enter the building more than 10 minutes before your child’s scheduled class start time to allow time & space for the previous class to exit.
HAND WASHING/SANITIZING
Let’s continue this safe and courteous practice!
It is recommended that students wash or sanitize their hands before coming to class to prevent passing germs to their classmates or teachers. All persons will wash their hands or use hand sanitizer if they become soiled, sneezed on, come in contact with bodily fluids, and after using the bathroom. Staff may remind students of this procedure when necessary. Hand sanitizing stations are available to students, staff, and spectators in multiple locations throughout the gym.
CLEANING PROCEDURES
At the end of each day and as necessary.
All mats and equipment used during a particular day will be cleaned at the end of each day. Staff will continue to do extra cleaning when mats become soiled or sneezed on, etc.
COVID-19 CLOSURE POLICIES
In the event of a person testing positive for COVID-19 after visiting KJ’s:
If a person become sick within 48 hours or less after taking a class or visiting the gym and subsequently tests positive for COVID-19, KJ’s will immediately reach out to any families that might have been exposed and cooperate with contact-tracing efforts to the best of our abilities. We recommend you list any and all persons that may accompany your child to class when filling out their enrollment so that we can reach out to them in the event of a possible exposure. We may require a particular class, a full class hour, or full gym class cancellation, depending on the scope of the incident. We may require individuals who were present in the same class or group as an infected person to wear a mask during their next class or stay home from the gym for 10 days. We will grant make-up tokens in the event your class is cancelled or you must miss class due to a COVID-19 potential exposure.
In the event of a state-wide or region-wide shut-down, spanning more than two weeks:
If we were to shut down for a longer period of time due to a state mandate, we will utilize a two-step plan:
1. Immediately after a shut-down, to cover any remaining paid-for classes in a particular billing month, we will go to live, “webinar” style Zoom classes. This could last anywhere from 1 to 4 weeks. Zoom classes will be offered in lieu of in-person classes, and credits and refunds will not be offered.
2. We recognize that Zoom classes are not a replacement for our in-person program in the long-term. Therefore, after you have completed your remaining Zoom classes for which you have already paid, you have no further obligation to continue. If Zoom classes are not for you and your family, you will have the option to drop after that time. Going forward, we will prepare a schedule of small group Zoom classes, most similar to what we offered in the Spring of 2020. These classes will be limited to smaller class sizes and offer more one-on-one coaching time than the live, “webinar” style classes that will be offered immediately after a shut-down. For those that would like to continue with Zoom after the first few weeks of closure, you will need to enroll in a new Zoom class time, if you wish to do so. We will then re-assess whether we can return to in-person classes based on state and regional guidelines.
THESE POLICIES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE AS OFFICIAL REQUIREMENTS ARE ADJUSTED.
