If we decide to close, the first thing we do is send an email blast through our Parent Portal. Make sure you are not unsubscribed to our Parent Portal emails in order to be notified. If you have notifications turned on for your app, you will receive an app notification. You can check the Recent News section of the Parent Portal, where we will post an update if we are closed. We will also post on our Facebook and Instagram page. New this year, we are going to include a red notification status bar on the top of our website on days that we expect some weather. It will state whether we are still OPEN or have decided to CLOSE, with a reminder to check back for updates.
The short answer is yes. Sometimes, we schedule make-ups during school vacation weeks, like in February or April, when we would have normally been closed. Sometimes we schedule them on a Friday, when we are normally closed. Sometimes, we just offer make-up tokens in lieu of a planned make-up day. We will notify you about any upcoming snow-day make-ups in our newsletters and emails. If you are ever unable to attend our snow-day make-ups due to previous commitments, please reach out by email or use our Parent Portal to schedule a make-up for your child in one of our other class days and times, just as you would when you miss class due to an illness.
At KJ's Gymnastics, our top priority is your child's safety, and this includes in the car on the way to and from the gym! So if your driveway isn't cleared, or your road still isn't plowed, or you feel unsafe about driving here and back home, PLEASE STAY HOME. We invite you to then email us or use the Parent Portal to alert us of your absence, and we will happily find a time to reschedule your child's missed class or send you a make-up token to be used at a later date.
